Accounts Supervisor
Location: Douglas, Isle of Man
Closing date for applications: 19th November 2026
The opportunity:
We are seeking an Accounts Supervisor to join our Financial Accounting and Reporting (FAR) team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain broad exposure across a range of financial accounting and reporting activities, including IFRS reporting to the Group, analytical reviews and the preparation of key reporting inputs.
As part of a team that aggregates and analyses data from multiple Group companies, you will develop comprehensive business knowledge and technical expertise across both insurance and non-insurance accounting. You will also support wider Finance activities and contribute to business projects and change initiatives as required.
This is a full-time position that may require flexibility to work additional hours during peak reporting periods to ensure key reporting deadlines are met. Any overtime worked will be paid accordingly.
Key responsibilities:
- Support the preparation and submission of IFRS reporting to the Group.
- Prepare financial reporting information, including analytical review files, journals, reconciliations and supporting schedules.
- Investigate and explain financial variances, providing meaningful commentary and insights.
- Ensure account reconciliations are completed accurately and in line with Group internal control requirements.
- Support the delivery and continuous improvement of financial controls, processes and reporting.
- Provide broader support to the Finance team, including business projects and change initiatives.
- Collaborate with colleagues across Finance, Group functions and the wider business to deliver reporting requirements.
Your skills and experience:
- Previous experience in a finance or financial accounting role.
- Part-qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, AAT or CAT) or qualified by experience.
- Experience interpreting and applying accounting standards such as IFRS, IAS or UK GAAP.
- Strong Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs and formula creation. Experience with SAP would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to investigate financial variances and provide meaningful analysis and commentary to support decision-making.
- Proactive and self-motivated, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively to meet reporting deadlines.
- Experience within the insurance sector, or auditing insurance businesses, would be advantageous but is not essential.
